As infants, we arrive on this earth vulnerable, with many needs and reliant on our caregivers. We connect, grow, and learn how to live. All of this later either helps or hinders us in achieving our desired goals—be it relationships, meaningful work, parenthood, and more. Sometimes we hear, "The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree," and we feel how much our origins shape us. But how does the unresolved bundle of an infant’s needs connect with the existing system of their family of origin? What can I do as an adult if I want to change everything I learned about life through my key relationships—parents, siblings, close others? Time to hop on the surfboard and head toward better-functioning relationships!
